Hello, I am a co-maintainer of a port (nds2-client) that has an optional MATLAB interface. The MATLAB interface takes the form of so-called MEX files, which are shared modules that are compiled and linked against MATLAB. I am consdering adding a variant to enable the MATLAB interface feature for this port. Would an optional variant that requires the user to have a commercial application be in any way against the policies of MacPorts?
