Just had to revert to using an old leopard setup machine, because my current machine was written off, but struggling to get mac port 'update outdated' to work. I think it is because since selfupdating the gcc46 is no longer allowed as a default but not really sure I just know unless I specify configure.compiler=macports-gcc-4.6 it fails immediately.

I uninstalled my perl5.12 and cleaned it etc... but can't seem to reinstall it.

Anyway I am trying to get the macport for boehmgc, it seems to be a requirement on neko ( or maybe hxcpp ).

My default gcc is gcc46 but Perl5.12 seems to be checking old flags, I found this related post

http://answerpot.com/showthread.php?3203739-gcc46+and+Boost

but since perl seems to be applying patches I am not sure a similar approach works?

Not sure how to proceed?

Cheers

Justin
