If you just want the buildbot to rebuild a port, you can just touch the port -- 
make any change, even a whitespace change. Or better yet use the buildbot web 
interface, if you have a login and can figure out what to put into the fields 
of the form. Increasing the revision for this purpose is not recommended 
because it makes users who already have the port installed rebuild it, for in 
this case no benefit.

Same here. There's no need to increase the revision when adding build 
dependencies.


When deciding whether to increase the revision, ask: what benefit will users 
who already have the port installed receive by rebuilding the port? If none, 
then don't increase the revision.
