Thanks a lot for your answer. The version of MacPorts I'm using is 2.1.3, but I 
carried it over from the previous system, so I'm not sure if the macports user 
still exists. Should I reinstall MacPorts from scratch (i.e., after completely 
deleting /opt/local), or is there a more efficient way of doing it?
