I can confirm that this fixes the issue. (On a host that has been upgraded from 
way back in early darwinports days until now - it's probably overdue for 
general macports.conf cleanup)

I guess we could modify this as part of the upgrade process? Or transparently map the old setting to the new like we do with portdbformat?
