GitHub PG livecheck failing for release/tags

At least for me, the GitHub PG livecheck is failing for release/tags ... like, 
all of them; it is not failing for commits. A quick search on the MP GIT master 
history shows no changes to the GitHub PG ... so maybe it's just me?  Or maybe 
GitHub is messing with how it provides tarballs? Can anyone confirm? Thx! - MLD
