user "macports" does not exist

      Short of fully reinstalling MacPorts is there a way to recreate the
"macports" user? It seems that a reinstallation of macOS over macOS purged
out that user account and there doesn't seem to be a utility installed by
MacPorts to recreate it.
      Oddly this topic doesn't get any Google hits... only the topic of
removing the "macports" user.
