Building app with cmake rather than configure

I'm new to macports, and want to develop a port-file for my app.
The macports guide says "The default installation phase behavior performed by 
the MacPorts base works fine for applications that use the standard configure, 
make, and make install steps"
But my app and several of its dependencies are built with cmake/make. Could 
someone please point me to an example port-file that builds with cmake?
