Hi everyone,

this is a heads-up that I’m planning to land OpenSSL 3.6
(https://github.com/macports/macports-ports/pull/29589) in a day or two.

The changes should be ABI- and API-compatible, so no revbump of dependent ports
would be required (except the ones we always bump as documented in the
Portfile).

I’m not aware of any regressions except one related to Ruby’s use that was
reported upstream in https://github.com/openssl/openssl/issues/28752 and
https://github.com/openssl/openssl/issues/28758, which has recently been fixed.
I’ve included a backport of that fix.

Please let me know if you have any concerns or want more time to test your
ports against 3.6. FWIW, I’ve run this version on my machine since October, and
haven’t seen any problems.
