Hello, I maintain the OpenJDK ports (e.g. openjdk25) which require the Metal toolchain to be present to build. Since macOS 26, the Metal metaltoolchain is no longer bundled in Xcode, but needs to be installed separately via 'xcodebuild -downloadComponent MetalToolchain’ (and there are some additional issues with it, see https://trac.macports.org/wiki/TahoeProblems#MetaltoolchainisnolongerbundledinXcode).
I believe the Metal toolchain is installed on the buildbots, but it’s not installed on the macOS 26 version of our GitHub builders, which is why this job fails: https://github.com/macports/macports-ports/actions/runs/21189843722/job/60953580784 Would it be possible and a good idea to add the Metal toolchain to the GitHub macOS 26 builders? If so, could someone make this happen? Nils.
