If your browser supports User-Agent spoofing, you could use that to get past the access obnoxiousness. That's not fully effective, since (at least in Chrome) per-site spoofing isn't applied to externally obtained URLs (e.g., links from emails), so you initially get the 403 and have to reload the page to see it.

This approach to bot-blocking is pretty lame. There's nothing to stop the bots from using User-Agent strings from current browsers. What then, require everyone to use lynx? IP-based filtering would be more robust and less user-unfriendly.
