I'm running on a very undersized system (640 Mb maxed out) and while it bogs down and swaps like mad, applications don't get dumped.

I just wonder at why there is a python process in the mix at all, given that MacPorts' infrastructure is all tcl. from what I can gather, it's not dying from lack of memory but some other error.
