That's strange. It built fine on my MacBook Core 2 Duo 2 Ghz on 10.5
as a dependency for Subversion.
Were you building zlib on its own or as a part of another port?
part of another but when I tryed just now to build it on its own
(after doing a port clean --all zlib), it built just fine.
