I did read that. My question is if I can simply uninstall afterwards the version that is not active.

Hi,
I saw there is an upgrade to GCC. I saw that in order to uninstall the old version I have to use the -u option to the upgrade command. Now, the ideal thing would be of course to upgrade it and if the upgraded version works, to uninstall the old version. Is this something that can be done after upgrading? I'm concerned about not using the -u option and then having both the upgraded and the outdated versions of the same compiler in the system. Thank you all,

You can have multiple versions installed, but only one of them being active.

Read more about it in our guide,
