Apple is currently providing gcc 4.0 as default in Xcode and
additionally gcc 4.2. I don't think it is a good idea to add gcc >=4.3
as a dependency for selfupdate.
Actually, looking around, it looks ilke maybe -nostdinc has been
around since before 3.0.
