Yes, perl comes with Mac OS X, but MacPorts ports should not use that version
of perl; they should install and use the MacPorts version of perl in the
perl5.8 (or perl5.10) port.
Do you have anything in /usr/local or /sw? That can also interfere with the
proper operation of MacPorts.
No I don't have any folder /usr/local or even /sw. I'll uninstall
tonight and see what happens. I'll get back.
