Thanks for the suggestions. x264 seems to be installed as "port installed" includes: x264 @20100224_0 (active) I have not specified +universal either in variants.conf or on the original mplayer-devel install command (mplayer-devel @29701_2+aa+darwin+dv+faac+macosx+mencoder_extras+osd+twolame+x264+xvid (active)) Also, the installed mplayer doesn't execute and complains about: dyld: Library not loaded: /opt/ports/lib/libx264.70.dylib Referenced from: /opt/ports/bin/mplayer Reason: image not found There is no libx264.70.dylib, but there is libx264.88.dylib. I also did "port clean --all mplayer-devel" followed by "port upgrade -u mplayer-devel" and got the same error. Can I somehow revert to a previous version of x264? > Does x264 build? It doesn't build on 10.6.2 +universal here. > Are either of you setting +universal in /opt/local/etc/macports/variants.conf > ?
