Thank you. I was able to fix this problem by uninstalling all ports and re-installing. Drastic, but it worked :-)
Osx 10.6.3 Xcode ; 3.2.2 I do have fink installed and so yes there are libs at /sw and others at /usr However, the problem occurred after doing a port update with Port Authority. Sorry, I feel I'm not being much help. I am finding problems with each of the ports that I need : ffmpeg, inventor, etc.... but I'll post these separately once I've checked them out :-) Again many thanks On 9 May 2010, at 23:43, Ryan Schmidt wrote: > > On May 9, 2010, at 12:21, Scott Haneda wrote: > >> On May 9, 2010, at 4:06 AM, notbot wrote: >> >>> Computing dependencies for p5-locale-gettext >>> Configuring p5-locale-gettext >>> Error: Target org.macports.configure returned: configure failure: shell >>> command " cd >>> "/opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_perl_p5-locale-gettext/work/gettext-1.05" >>> && /opt/local/bin/perl Makefile.PL INSTALLDIRS=vendor " returned error 2 >>> Command output: checking for gettext... no >>> checking for gettext in -I/opt/local/include -arch x86_64 -L/opt/local/lib >>> -lintl...gettext function not found.
