..................ppc64 and ppc are two different architectures. If you request ppc there's no way you'll get ppc64 instead, or vice versa. gcc 4.2.1 builds all four Mac OS X architectures -- ppc, ppc64, i386, x86_64 -- just fine, as far as I know.
