hi,
I've just installed the latest Xcode, and Macports, on a new Mac.
My first step after installation was to do a selfupdate.
Yet, when I try to actually use mac ports, with something like :
$ sudo port install cmake
the fetch stage failed for every dependency, and even cmake itself,
after checking something like 20 sites...
Using the info on the Problem Hotlist section on Fetch failures,
I was able to use a web browser and get the packages from
http://distfiles.macports.org/
place them in :
/opt/local/var/macports/distfiles/<portname>/
and then the port install command will work.
But this is so tedious and seems contrary to using a package manager.
So I'm wondering if I've missed something simple?
Also wondering if one can 'point' the port cmd
to simply use the package bundles found at http://distfiles.macports.org/ ?
I've included the output from running with -v and -d for another port that
failed in hopes someone will know what's going one.
