In the future, please use the Macports-Users mailing list since I don't have much free time.
I just today added a comment to ticket 30882 [1]. I suggest uninstalling everything and re-building from scratch. That was the only reliable way to fix it. Also, py27-matplotlib will use python 2.7. In Macports py26 means python 2.6 and py27 means python 2.7, etc. Use the prefix for the python version you prefer. Cheers!
