This sounds rather wrong; MacPorts should *never* install stuff under /System, that path is reserved for Apple-sourced stuff and liable to be modified by Software Update at any time. The flip side to this is that the python executable you use also matters; stuff under /System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework would only be available in /usr/bin/python, not /opt/local/bin/python which looks under /opt/local/Library/Python.framework. -- brandon s allbery [email protected] wandering unix systems administrator (available) (412) 475-9364 vm/sms
