All the MacPorts pear-* packages will continue to install to the same location and they will not need to be reinstalled. There will be a php5-pear, php53-pear and php54-pear that will add the additional ini files that will include the pear-* lib path to each respective php install. The installer phar which currently is installed with php5-pear will be moved to it's own port (pear-install-phar). I will try to finish the changes over the weekend.
