Ahh… Well, if it complains about DYLB_<X> *and* LD_LIBRARY_PATH, I would argue 
the message is at best misleading, as it only refers to DYLB_<X> variables.. I 
do have LD_LIBRARY_PATH set

Chris-Jones-Macbook-Pro ~ > echo $LD_LIBRARY_PATH 
/opt/local/lib

I don't recall why I have this set. Is it not needed for MacPorts ?
