Hi Peng - I see this too. I think one can create a startup file that does "graphics_toolkit gnuplot" or "graphics_toolkit fltk" which should take care of the issue. See < http://www.gnu.org/software/octave/doc/interpreter/Startup-Files.html >. There is probably a way to fix this in octave-devel itself, but since it seems harmless otherwise, and I have bigger fish to fry just right now, I'll leave this as a task for someone else; or file a ticket and I'll try to get to it sometime. - MLD
