Does anyone know how to set up matplotlib (right now i'm using py27-matplotlib) such that it uses X11 to draw the windows so they can be viewed from a remote SSH session? I've tried changing the backend in ~/.matplotlib/matplotlibrc from 'MacOSX' to 'Qt4Agg' (still renders on local machine only), 'GTKAgg' (gives 'ImportError: No module named _backend_gdk'), and several others, with no success.
