Not only do I agree, but I think that an option to suppress "normal" output, 
leaving only the "important" stuff, would be nice -- so that under normal 
operations, only those notes would be output.

This is coming from Mail.app. I hate the new Gmail web look, and dislike Mail 
only slightly less.
