kdelibs3 builds fine for me on Mountain Lion with Xcode 4.6.1. If it doesn't 
build for you, file a bug report as usual.

I doubt it's related. Try again with the debug flag:

sudo port -d selfupdate

If the error message that should print doesn't suggest a solution to you, file 
a bug report for that as well.
