That ticket was about the inability to install kde universal anymore, because 
dependency virtuoso cannot be built universal anymore. That problem was 
resolved by no longer checking the architecture of virtuoso when installing kde.

You want something different: to install virtuoso for i386. Sorry; as far as I 
know, virtuoso now requires an x86_64 processor. You could discuss that new 
requirement with the developers of virtuoso.

One possible workaround might be to install an older i386-supporting version of 
virtuoso:

We wouldn’t support such a configuration, however.
