I think that the solution will be simpler. The patch in question is supposed to improve the responsivity of several KDE applications, but if it implies that other applications are crashing, it should not be employed in its present form. I will revert the patch later today when I have access to my machine after ensuring that it is the culprit, which should solve the issue with kmymoney.

Right, it's not simple; MacPorts is designed for you to use the 
currently-available version of ports. The way to get earlier versions is 
documented here:

But since kde has many parts, he would have to revert many ports, and in the 
correct (dependency) order.
