I _think_ the problem was conflicting settings in existing my.cnf files from a native MySQL installation (from mysql.com), in /private/etc and /usr/local/mysql-5.6.20-osx10.8-x86_64. After renaming those, uninstalling mysql56-server, and reinstalling, I was able to execute the mysql_install_db script without warning or error. --- Murray Eisenberg [email protected] 503 King Farm Blvd #101 Home (240)-246-7240 Rockville, MD 20850-6667 Mobile (413)-427-5334 _______________________________________________ macports-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.macosforge.org/mailman/listinfo/macports-users
