Sorry, but yes. The support is not complete in 10.6 (and possibly other
pre-10.9 OS X version). The symptom is that it cannot find the appropriate
C++11 headerfiles but instead picks those from Apple's gcc-4.2 .
That though does not make what I said incorrect. clang 3.4 fully
supports c++11. A statement of fact.

The issue you describe is an issue with the *deployment* of clang in
MacPorts/OSX. Something else.
