I am new to MacPorts and was hoping to use it to install the current version of GNU Octave 3.8.2 (currently building on my machine) and some earlier versions, such as 3.6.4. I’m finding it difficult to figure out how to do the earlier versions, if it is even possible.
I found this page (https://trac.macports.org/wiki/howto/InstallingOlderPort), but I’m having trouble trying to find a revision of the octave port* that clearly corresponds to version 3.6.4 of Octave. Should I just pick the rev right before the one that says “update to 3.8.1” (i.e. rev 121949) and hope that it’s 3.6.4 or what? Can somebody give me a few tips here?
