I didn't say non-upgradable. OWC makes upgrades for the internal SSD of many 
Apple laptops, for example:

Yes, I was aware of the compromises when I purchased my MacBook Pro with Retina 
Display 2.5 years ago. Yes, I paid extra for a larger SSD than the standard 
one. Yes, it is nevertheless full now.
