There's no particular need to do that. It may help reclaim some disk space, but probably not all the disk space that could be reclaimed, and it may remove some files that you need later: Cleaning --all removes distfiles as well; perhaps you'll need those again later if you rebuild the port with different options or if a revision increase occurs; in that case, you'll waste time downloading the distfiles again. And cleaning only the installed ports won't help you build ports that aren't yet installed that have prior failed build attempts.
