qt5 build dependency on clang

On a 10.8.5-system with default compiler qt5 @5.7.1 and qt56 @5.6.2 require 
clang-4.0 to build, while another whose compiler is set to clang-3.9 shows this 
as dependency. Can anyone confirm the former?
