Note there is a regression for users with non-standard installations and the new HFS compression option: https://trac.macports.org/ticket/56563
This only impacts users whose installation is not owned by root. If you have to type 'sudo' before 'port [command]', you can ignore this message. The workaround until libarchive is fixed (either locally or upstream; a pull request has been created upstream) is to set 'hfscompression no' in MacPorts.conf. Sorry for the hiccup. I provided the HFS compression changes, and did not test this configuration. There a three year old bug report against libarchive that we'll hopefully help clean up in the process. Details in the ticket above. - Eric On Mon, May 28, 2018 at 2:47 PM, Joshua Root <[email protected]> wrote: > The MacPorts Project is happy to announce that the 2.5.0 version has now > been released.
