I’ve figured out that the reason my font choice is suddenly being ignored is
that the Macports version of Gnucash is now version 3 which has an entirely
different method for overriding default fonts and other things. Since the
folder ~/.config/gtk-3.0 existed, it seemed logical to suppose that putting the
requisite gtk-3.0.css file there would let me have my font size back. However,
my settings there have no effect. The other location suggested on the web is
$XDG_CONFIG_HOME/gnucash with the note that dble-clicking an application bundle
means $XDG_CONFIG_HOME needs to be set in bundle's
Resources/etc/gnucash/environment. That seems like something that should
happen in the installation process and if it can’t that there should be a
post-flight note saying it has to be done. Reading the
Resources/etc/gnucash/environment, it appears that either /Library/Application
Support/gnucash or ~/Library/Application Support/gnucash should exist, but
neither does.

I’d really like to be able to enlarge the font to a size I can read, but at the
moment nothing I’m doing works. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Lenore
