It looks like something is up with your installation. Perhaps the easiest solution is to start from scratch, so follow
https://guide.macports.org/chunked/installing.macports.uninstalling.html <https://guide.macports.org/chunked/installing.macports.uninstalling.html> to remove all traces of macports and start again.
