Dear MacPorts users,

I would warmly welcome everyone to check what has been done so far,
provide feedback, but in particular volunteer to run
     sudo port install mpstats-gsoc
to help us get more statistics ready by the time Arjun starts working
on that part (about two weeks from now; it would be really cool to
have more than one month worth of statistics from a sufficient number
of users well before the GSOC ends to be able to know whether we'll be
heading in the right direction).

I would like to participate in sending usage statistics. However I
currently have made out-of-tree modifications to a few ports for testing
patches and prerelease versions, using versions/revisions greater than
in the official tree so that I can easily switch between the official
port and my modified port using `port activate`.

Is there any issue posed by reporting "invalid" port info? I would guess
that the main goal of the statistics is likely for analyzing the more
popular "official" ports than for worrying about unpopular or "invalid"
ones, but want to make sure first.

Thanks
