Thanks (also to Richard Hamilton) I (mis)understood that no LaunchDaemon plist would be installed by a port install unless I would run 'port load’ (might be HB thinking here), but port load is just a shorthand for launchctl load. The LaunchDaemon plist is installed by definition.
