I have three Macs, two of which running Sonoma. On one I have updated to 2.10.0
without trouble. All three systems are configured in the same way (obviously
not…)

When I have updated my ports (using git, I keep my own fork/clone in case I do
maintenance on a port), I tend to run portindex

On two of the three systems this fails:

% portindex
sqlite error: attempt to write a readonly database (8) while executing query:
CREATE INDEX registry.snapshot_file_id ON snapshot_files(id)
    while executing
"registry::open $db_path"
    (procedure "mportinit" line 832)
    invoked from within
"mportinit ui_options global_options"
    (file "/opt/local/bin/portindex" line 22)

Portindex and Portindex.quick are owned by me. portindex -d doesn’t give extra
information. So, I am a bit at a loss.

Apparently it is looking elsewhere. But where and why?
