Hi Ed, sorry for the late reply on this.
I had a quick look at the changes you made in the branch. I can see that
you fixed several problems there, not only #159. We can definitely cherry-
pick some of the changes and merge them into trunk.
Regarding the float changes, I will have to read more about what you did,
I'm afraid it would break some of the performance optimizations we wrote
earlier.
