I started working on something similar the other day. I've been looking 
specifically at GitHub issues but I've got a bunch of generic GitHub code that 
I started writing. You can see the code at https://github.com/dj2/Loom if 
you're interested.

I've been writing it outside of XCode so it's built using the Rakefile. The app 
itself is pretty basic at the moment, I've got the loading of issues there but 
there are currently two hard coded repos that it works with.
