They are aware. I opened an issue with Apple and they marked it as a duplicate of something they're already addressing (How soon? Not a clue…). Since duplicating bugs is the only way to say "I also have this problem", the more people that open a bug with Apple, the better. The tone of their response, for me at least, indicated that they care!
That said, the amount of Objective-C required for the workaround is *super* minimal, but I understand if it's overwhelming to manage two languages. Hopefully it'll be back to normal soon.
