While all testing, reviews and opinion can be beneficial, one should  
not confuse usability opinions with real usability testing. Having  
been through real usability tests with an independent usability lab  
and measured the results, I can attest that well formed opinions from  
designers, reviewers and users are not always right.  Not disagreeing  
with the other recommendations here, just clarifying the difference  
between usability opinions and real usability testing.  An opinion is  
better than no opinion, but usability testing beats both even though  
it may not be affordable for an indie developer.
