I did set up an LLC and don't regret doing so. I'd probably set up another one if I were to form another company. You can always start selling as a sole proprietor and then register an LLC later, if you're concerned about the liability issues. For US Federal taxes, a single-member LLC is treated no differently than a sole proprietorship. You can even file to have the IRS treat your LLC as an S-Corp for tax purposes. Can you tell I've been doing a lot of reading on the IRS site... sigh. The big advantage of using an LLC business structure is the liability protection. That might be the only advantage, actually, if you're just one person. Sole proprietors can hire employees, so an LLC isn't a requirement for that. Bill
