The UK is different from the US. I always trade via a Limited company but yes, 
you can be a sole trader as well. If you want to do some consulting on the side 
then a Limited company is almost the only route to go due to legislation in the 
UK. I also like the clear distinction between what's mine and what belong to 
the business that having a company provides.
