I know I can download the source and build it. I'm assuming github's
'Download Source' link dynamically bundles the latest sources into an
archive for you to download. That means I'm getting what's been most
recently checked in - not having followed the development history
carefully, I'm a little wary of unleashing whatever comes out of the
build on tens of thousands of users. Seems I don't have much choice
though - the latest packaged-up build is 1.5b6, which is old and
doesn't have Uli's changes.
