Yes, v1 users will want to know about v2 - most upgrade right away.
And of course, I'd like them to find out about v2 immediately -
because those people are a significant revenue source if the upgrade
delivers enough value for them to pay for it.

Sure, and a separate appcast may go in later if upgrades to v1 are
necessary. However, the big point is to market the upgrade
effectively and ensure that people are up to date. For Default Folder
X in particular, people need to keep current on updates as they
upgrade the OS.
